e pluribus texas

The Texas Center at Schreiner University is making an important contribution to telling the Texas story with a new video series for schools and the general public. We call this effort E Pluribus Texas®, out of many—ONE Texas. It starts with the creation of an honest and trustworthy video series—250 episodes, five minutes each—on Texas history and culture. Useful for natives and newcomers like, and for school kids and those who love them, The Texas Center wants all Texans to add their story to the great saga of our state. First, through, they need to know the story!
As a people, Texans have been organically multi-cultural—there is nothing forced or artificial about the great cultural fusion that makes the Lone Star State special, perhaps even exceptional.
Texas is a great expression of the American idea. The framers of this United States envisioned a government that created an environment where its citizens could pursue their happiness. The Constitution was the scaffolding for this great design. Texas is where this dream was tested and proved. What emerged was a place that put the republican rhetoric of Philadelphia into action under difficult and uncomfortable circumstances and proved to the world that these principles . . . worked!
Join local historian Jay Moore as he curates an hour-long highlight reel that will hit the high points of the E Pluribus Texas project, and join the conversation with its creators, Dr. Don Frazier and Ben Friberg, both former residents of Abilene.
Together, let's celebrate the story of Texas—past, present, and future.
