The odds were against her surviving cancer. If she did, it was incomprehensible that she might ride again, let alone compete. But Abilene's own world champion barrel racer, Angela Ganter, decided otherwise. “An unbelievable true story brought to life on screen,” is how Sports Illustrated describes “Outriding the Devil.” Some of the biggest names in rodeo - including Stetson Wright, Bob Tallman, Shad “Money” Mayfield, Ky Hamilton, Zeke Thurston, and Fallon Taylor - join with Mo Brings Plenty and stars of the “Yellowstone” TV universe and country music to share one of the most incredible comebacks in rodeo history: in 2010, Texas Rodeo Hall of Famer, Angela Ganter, a world champion barrel racer, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and in a decade-long fight for life she went from “death’s door to the winner’s circle” at the Calgary Stampede upon her remarkable return to rodeo. Defying days when she was too weak to leave her bedroom, during her ordeal, Angela somehow managed to coach her daughter, Jackie, to the WPRA Rookie of the Year title in 2015 at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). However, “Outriding the Devil” is about more than Angela Ganter’s indomitable will and courage to overcome cancer and return to rodeo; on a sweeping canvas that stretches from frontier Texas in 1850 to Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2024, Ganter’s life and pioneering ranching heritage serve as both living history and a metaphor for Western culture and rodeo.

With an introduction by director, Raen LeVell, and a panel Q & A afterwards with stars of the movie, including Angela Ganter
