ABOUT THE TALK:
This presentation will take a look at some very interesting days in our local history as well as some days that have shaped our city. This will be Jay Moore's third Abilene history program presented in partnership with The Grace at the Paramount Theatre. “Forgotten Abilene” and “Abilene Dreams” were the first two programs.

You will hear about an Abilene visit to Abilene. An infamous day in our early days and even the time a baby was given away. You will hear about some locals who made big contributions and some who made big sacrifices. A stormy day, a fiery day, auspicious days and days long forgotten.

From the speaker: "I feel that sharing local history helps us to connect with one another. Knowing our past creates community. That passing parade of our past shapes our identity. My hope is that people will bring their friends and come enjoy stories from our past, a past that has shaped our present."

This program is funded by the Dian Graves Owen Foundation.
