24fps international short film FESTIVAL

The 24fps International Short Film Festival continues to present challenging and progressive programs of short films by aspiring and established artists from around the world

The juried competition is open to any work made outside the major worldwide film studio system, and provides cash awards to the festival’s top films in six major categories.

Festival Director Barry Smoot says 24fps “was created to encourage aspiring filmmakers and give them a unique, landmark theatrical setting to showcase their work. As a nationally recognized historic theatre, we are dedicated to preserving and celebrating the cinematic art form. It seems only fitting that we have a hand in encouraging its future as well.”

25 Years of Short Films

24fps was founded in 1999 as the West Texas Film Festival and was re-named the 24fps International Short Film Festival in 2001. 24fps solicits film from the international community with no requirements as to genre, content, or theme.

Films must be of a running time of 20 minutes or less to be eligible for submission. 24fps uses the FilmFreeway platform to accept submissions, but will also accept private Vimeo links to films sent directly to the Festival Director, Barry Smoot, at bsmoot@paramountabilene.com.
